Peel the fruit, cut into quarters, remove the core and dice the fruit.
Put the pear cubes in a pot, add wine and bring to a boil, barely covered (fill up with water if necessary), with sugar and spices. Cook on low heat until soft.
Remove the cinnamon bark and cloves and puree the pear puree with a hand blender.
Serve hot or cold as desired.
