Instructions:

For the Omelette Surprise, first separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until creamy. Add about half of the powdered sugar and beat until firm. Mix the cornflour with the vanilla sugar and the remaining powdered sugar and gently fold in. Gradually stir in the yolks.

Now preheat the oven to 180 °C. Melt some butter in two (or more) very small pancake pans and pour one eighth of the mixture into each pan. Form round by swirling the pan and bake briefly. Then place in the hot oven and cook for about 8-12 minutes until golden brown. Bake the remaining 7 omelets in the same way. (The mixture can also be baked into 4 larger omelets, folding them together after filling).

Carefully turn out finished omelets onto a plate and spread a little jam on half of them. Cut out ice cream with a spoon or ice cream scoop and place on top of the spread omelets. Sprinkle with strawberries cut into small pieces as needed and cover each with an omelet. Sprinkle the Omelette Surprise with powdered sugar and garnish with whipped cream and/or chocolate sauce to taste.

Preparation Tip:

If the Omelette Surprise has to go particularly quickly, just bake normal pancakes and fill them with berries and ice cream.
