For the Knackwurstschiffchen preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cut the washed bell bell pepper into very fine small cubes and then also finely chop the onion.

Dab the pickled gherkins a little and cut them into small cubes. Mix all ingredients with salt, pepper, garlic and olive oil. Skin the knackwurst sausages and cut them lengthwise.

Score furrows with a coffee spoon, mix the scooped out sausage scraps with the other vegetable cubes, cut into small pieces. Fill the furrows with the mixture and cover each with half a slice of processed cheese.

Bake in a hot oven for about 20 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

The Knackwurstschiffchen go very well with mashed potatoes or a fresh Salst.
