For the brownies, slowly melt the butter and dark chocolate. Heat only lukewarm and not too strong. This can be done in a water bath or carefully in the microwave. Stir in halved walnuts.

Mix the dry ingredients: Fold in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and sugar and the chocolate. Lastly, stir in three eggs.

Spread the mixture in a 20×20 cm baking dish lined with baking paper (for larger dishes, simply adjust the amount).

Sprinkle with almond slivers, orange zest or dried sour cherries, according to taste. Bake in oven preheated to 160°C for about 25 minutes.

The dough should no longer stick completely to the stick, but should still be moist. Let cool well and only then cut the brownies into pieces.

Preparation Tip:

The brownies are best served with fruit (e.g. raspberries) and vanilla ice cream on fruit syrup.
