For the chocolate cake, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease springform pan and sprinkle with flour. Mix dry ingredients (all at room temperature) thoroughly.

Separate eggs, add egg yolks to flour mixture. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Add shortening and milk to flour mixture and beat 1 minute with electric beaters. Fold in beaten egg whites.

Pour batter into pan and smooth by shaking. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes on the 2nd rack from the bottom, then test with chopsticks.

If necessary, loosen the base from the edge of the pan with a knife and turn out onto a cooling rack to cool completely.

For the filling, mix jam with water until smooth, fill cake twice and spread top layer and edge with jam as well. Prepare glaze according to package directions, pour over cake. Sprinkle with sprinkles, etc.

Instead of banana jam, any other jam will fit to fill the chocolate nut cake.
