A simple but delicious cake recipe:

This is an apple tart, in which the fruit is poured into the mold at first, and then the dough. This makes the apples juicier and more aromatic. The recipe originally comes from Swedish immigrants.

Spread 26 cm ø springform pan base with parchment paper.

Melt butter and pour on top. Sprinkle sugar on top. Remove skin from apples, remove core with apple corer and cut into thick slices. Arrange apples in a ring shape in the mold. Fill holes with walnuts. For the pastry, cream light butter, add sugar by spoonfuls. Stir in eggs, grated lemon zest and juice of one lemon. Combine flour, cornstarch and baking powder, sift over and fold in.

Fill the dough over the apples and bake.

Baking time: 45 min

Electric oven: 190 °C .

Gas stove: level 3 to 4 or just under 1/2 high flame.

Cool the cake for 10 min. after baking. Loosen the cake ring. Carefully turn out onto a cake wire. Lift off bottom and paper.
